Crystal Audio has unveiled a new version of its PicoHD5.1 portable set-top box with the MediaMatchbox.
Like its predecessor, the Media Matchbox can turn any USB memory stick or NAS drive into an entertainment source for your high-definition TV. It also works with hard disks, USB flash drives and SD or MMC media cards.
The new version can decode a greater variety of video formats, including Blu-ray, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, DiVX, AAC, FLAC, WMV and BD-ISO. It also delivers HD video up to 1080p, offers more video bandwidth (90Mbps) as well as HD audio pass-through and downmixing.
It also has video enhancement controls for brightness, contrast, saturation and hue, and is fitted with a Realtek RTD1055DD chipset.
It does all this in a box that’s not much bigger than a credit card, and weighs in at just 40g, making it extremely portable.
The Crystal Audio Media Matchbox is available now for £50.
